During the 2021 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit, we hosted a challenge clinic where participants shared some of their challenges while other Heroines tried to help them find solutions. One major concern that came up was, “how does one explain/communicate OGP with limited resources?” So in May, during Open Government Week, Heroine Mel Flanagan attempted to answer that question by walking us through the amazing work that she and her team at Nook Studios are doing in communicating open government.

Mel and the Nook crew are currently working on Making Open, a content design kit for advocates and changemakers. The kit is a series of designs and messages to help people simply explain and connect different open government concepts. They are keen on the use of the kit by people around the globe and would be happy to receive feedback on what’s helpful, as well as how the kit may be expanded and improved to suit different country contexts.

The crew started with explainers about financial transparency with the help of funding from Luminate and then further included other open government concepts.

Please contact Mel if you would like to know more or support the project at mel.flanagan@nookstudios.com.

Below is a recording of the event.
