Open Heroines is a community of women and non-binary people who work in the open fields, mainly in civic tech, open data and open government. We are currently a volunteer-run community, and this will be our first long term employee position.

Our community consists of 700 and growing members who usually discuss and operate on Slack, though we have other mediums like a blog and a Twitter account. We are now in a good position to hire a person to help us to make the community flourish, help to make members ideas come to life and to have their own ideas on how to make the community a respectful and fruitful place to be.

We have already been through a process of community research, and we are looking for someone who can take the findings and implement them in the community while bringing their own ideas to the table too.

The Role

We are looking for a person, with a preference from within the OH community, who can help us to take it to the next level. You are a team player, empathetic and can run with your own ideas. As a consultant role, you will lead the community efforts, create engagement plans and support our members.
